This is the website of Bergen County Plumbers ("we", "us") at bergencountyplumbers.com. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we collect what you choose to send us through the contact form, our web host keeps ordinary server logs, and we do not sell anyone's data.
What we collect
When you visit
Like every web server, ours keeps short-lived logs of requests: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use them to keep the site running and secure, not to build profiles of visitors.
When you contact us
The contact form sends us your name, email address, company if you give one, your message and your IP address by email. We use them only to deal with your enquiry. The website does not store messages in a database. It keeps a simple count of enquiries, the time and the topic you chose, which holds nothing that identifies you.
Cookies and tracking
The site sets no cookies. There are no advertising, analytics or tracking scripts. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved in your own browser and is never sent to us.
Who we share it with
Our hosting and email providers process this information on our behalf so that the site and our mailbox work. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We would disclose it only if the law required us to.
How long we keep it
Server logs are kept for a limited time, normally no more than a few months. Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with them and to keep a record of our dealings with you. If you become a client, your information is then handled under our agreement with you.
Your choices
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@bergencountyplumbers.com and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR or state privacy laws may give you additional rights, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority. The site is run from the United States and information is stored there.
Children
This is a business website. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and its effective date.
